If you plan to work in industrial, commercial or residential electricity, then the Electrical Technology program is for you. This program will meet the training needs of two areas of concentration: Industrial Electrician or Construction Electrician.


You will learn electrical theory, industrial motor controls, programmable logic controllers, electrical panel building, pneumatic/hydraulic circuits, residential wiring, commercial wiring and electrical troubleshooting. Laboratory activities will give you the opportunity to work with installation projects, switching and control equipment, typically used in problem-solving procedures, and the maintenance of electrical equipment.


What are my career choices?

Upon graduating from the Electrical Technology program, you will be ready for an entry-level position in the industrial or construction trade. Employment opportunities are primary with manufacturing, residential/commercial contractors and other various related fields.

The content of Level 4 Diploma in Electrical Technology Management qualification. This is a substantive management programme. Typically delivered over s 12month period in the case of full-time students. UKAP Level 4 courses combine practical career-based elements with a number of essential underpinning management disciplines that will be invaluable as the individual’s career progress. The course is, therefore, an ideal preparation for immediate employment in the sector.




Alternatively, students may use it as a pathway to advanced study, typically progressing on to the UKAP Level 5 Diploma. Since the Level 4 Diploma is designed to be broadly equivalent to that of the first year of a bachelor’s degree, students may use the qualification to apply for credit entry to a number of bachelor degree programmes at selected universities worldwide.


 Entry Requirements

For entry onto the UKAP Level 4 Diploma in Electrical Technology Management qualification, learner must possess:


·       Level 3 Diploma or GCE/GCSE or equivalent overseas qualifications

·        Mature learners (over 21) with relevant work experience (learners must check with the delivery centre regarding this   experience prior to registering for the programme)


 English requirements:


If the learner is not from a majority English-speaking country, they must provide evidence of English language competency at a minimum of CEFR (The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) level B1 from a recognised English test provider or IELTS level 4.0 in each component.

Duration and Delivery

The qualification is designed to be delivered over one academic year for full-time study but it is also flexible in its delivery in order to accommodate part-time and distance learning.


The qualification is delivered face-to-face, through lectures, tutorials, seminars, and distance, online by approved centre’s only.


 Assessment and Verification

All units within this qualification are internally assessed by the centre and verified by UKAP. The qualifications are criterion referenced, based on the achievement of all the specified learning outcomes.


To achieve a ‘pass’ for a unit, a learner must have successfully passed all learning outcomes for that unit.


The Assessor should provide an audit trail showing how the judgment of the learner’s overall achievement has been arrived at.




Upon successful completion of UKAP Level, 4 Diploma in Electrical Technology Management qualification learners will be eligible to gain entry into Year 1 of a three-year UK Bachelor’s degree or pursue a Level 5 Diploma in Electrical Technology Management.
